The colonial ambience and stunning views were a highlight during my solo visit. While I appreciated the location and private beach access, the corridors felt confusing at times, and the limited menu options were a bit disappointing. The staff were well-meaning but seemed to lack training. the charm of the hotel made for a pleasant stay, despite some minor issues.

We loved the colonial charm, fantastic meals, and the private beach really added to our fun! The direct ocean view from our room was simply breathtaking, and our non-service dog felt right at home. Adventure Sports Lanka provided an exciting family experience with bike rentals.
My kids wished there were more kid-friendly dining options.

Enjoyed the modern comforts of the Ocean View Room with a stunning balcony view. The sound of the crashing waves was soothing, and the decor had a great blend of colonial charm and contemporary style. The Governors Restaurant offered a generous breakfast with a good selection of local and international dishes. the quality of the food left much to be desired, particularly the cold fries and burgers we ordered. The staff seemed kind but lacked proper training, resulting in some chaotic service. Issues with my accommodation, like blinds that didn't work properly and a slow response to my requests for in-room service, diminished the experience. there's potential, but the hotel requires more attention to detail to reach its past glory.

great location but needs attention
The colonial ambience created a charming atmosphere throughout my stay. I loved the direct ocean view from my room. it offered stunning sunrises over the water. Access to the private beach was a real treat. the sand was soft, and the area felt exclusive. The city view from other parts of the hotel also added a beautiful backdrop to my experience.
The swimming pool deck, while inviting, lacked some necessary maintenance.
